According to the provisions of the Bangladesh Labor Act, 2006, the Department of Labor and Employment, Ministry of Labor and Employment, has been working to coordinate with the employers, workers, government and various international organizations by upholding the welfare of the workers, professional health and implementation of safety measures in the field of labor and upholding discipline in labor. In the light of the Labor Policy of Pakistan Government in 1969 and on the basis of the report of Air Vice Marshal Noor Khan, the Department of Labor (1) Department of Labor (2) Directorate of Inspection of Factories and Institutes and (3) Division of Trade Union Registration Directorate. The Department of Inspection and Factories Inspection has been undertaking the responsibility to ensure the increasing legal rights, safe and health-related work environment for a large number of working people.

The Department of Inspection of Factories and Institutions in this large number of factories and commercial establishments was performing the responsibility of applying labor laws. These departments were playing an important role in ensuring compliance in the garment factories in particular. Manpower and infrastructure were less than the factories and shops and commercial establishments of the whole country. In such a situation, activities of the Ministry of Labor and Employment have been promoted to the Directorate of Inspection of factories and Institutions and to increase the manpower. In continuation of the adopted activities, in the 32 offices of 01 Headquarters, 04 Divisional Offices, 04 Regional Offices and 23 Branch Offices, in place of 314 manpower, for the purpose of preparing all the formalities in the formulation of all the formalities, for the construction of 679 posts of different categories for the 01 headquarters and 23 district offices in the revenue department. Department of Inspection and Inspection of Jashore District Office of Inspector General of Mymensingh has been working to achieve the vision and mission of the department in Jashore, Magura, Jhenadah and Narail districts with 19 (Ninteen) officers and employees of 31 posts.
